What is The Women’s Collective?

The WC is a dynamic, smart and fun group of professional women focused on activating female difference makers. We fundraise to provide grants for programs and organizations that support our mission; we host educational and mentoring events to increase women’s leadership skills and confidence; and we plan activities that foster member engagement. The WC’s goal is to be a powerhouse organization that propels women into leadership roles in our community and in all professions.

Why is The Women’s Collective Important?

Gender inequality in the workforce is a significant problem globally. This inequity manifests in various ways, including gender pay gaps and unequal access to promotions and leadership roles. In 2024, only 10.4% of Fortune 500 companies were led by a female. This must change. The WC financially supports specific initiatives that bring women into the executive fold where their skills make substantial and positive impacts.  The WC fosters impactful connections between women knowing that working collectively is how we will be successful.

How has The Women’s Collective been Successful?

In its first four years of grant making, The WC has awarded just under $100,000 to local nonprofits that provide programming to enhance women in leadership roles. The WC supported a program to assist women get their first or second promotion; helped preserve the legacy of influential women in Scottsdale’s history; provided women with the skills and mindset to build wealth. The WC also initiated the first leadership award, within the Scottsdale Leadership’s Spirit of Community Awards, named after a woman. The annual Francis Young award honors an individual trailblazing the leadership path. By continuously evolving and investing in its resources, The WC can achieve lasting success and make a meaningful impact in advancing women.
